Wife, mother, artist, friend, laugh a minute Merilee. The summer after graduation I ran away from home with Merilee to her family compound in Truckee. We drove up Highway 80 in her turquoise Thunderbird convertible top down of course. We were tailed by various young men along the way, as we sang "Fun, fun, fun t'll her Daddy took her T bird away"! The fun we had is seered in my memory! My sincere condolences to Sam and her boys whom she loved deeply. Merilee I see you riding in the sky in that infamous T bird! Loved you Merilee! Christina

I can't stop thinking about Merilee. She was so passionate about everything and everyone.
Everything she did,she did it with gusto, smiling all the way. She definitely lit up the room.
And she was so creative. Her beautiful mosaics will be her monument.
In memorial of Merilee I will listen to FUN FUN FUN this afternoon on my walk.

My deepest condolences to her family. She will be missed!

Gretchen

This is from Brian Dunn, Merilee's son:

My dearest family and friends, It is with tremendous sorrow and a broken heart as I share that my beloved, awesome mom Merilee Eaton passed away Friday morning, February 10th, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Sam, Chris, Katie and myself were there the last beautiful days as we brought her home to her living room overlooking the pristine Ojai Valley she loved so much, as she listened to her favorite eclectic music, and received love and light from all who knew her. There’s so much more to be said. It’s an IMPOSSIBLE task for me to find a way to describe my mom, but suffice it to say she was a sweet, hard-charging, forthright force! She was a loving wife to Sam for 39 years and “mother-to-all”, not just to Chris and myself; she loved and shared her energy with us all: she was an incredible mosaic artist, a musician, a loyal friend, a lifelong learner, a voracious reader, an animal lover of all kinds, a “big sister”, a confidant to those who needed to share, an advocate for all and the best “Grandmer” alongside her doting “Sampa” for her three grandchildren. They will miss her very, VERY much. Remember those thoughts, those memories of her, and be ready to share them as a Celebration of Life is in the midst of being arranged. When more is available, I will post the information. Friends, family, all are welcome. Thank you to so many for your thoughts and heartfelt messages.

Sweet Merilee - she was always such a pixie and so much fun. She made this world a brighter place especially with her beautiful artwork - such a talent. My love and condolences to Sam and the family.
