It was at a class reunion that I had a chance to have a lengthy conversation with Bob and realized what a nice man he was. I left that night realizing all the years we passed each other in the halls of PHS, like so many of us did, and kept to ourselves or with just a small group of friends never really getting to know one another, the reality is that we are all connected. The fruit of life and rewards are through family, friends, kindness, love and compassion. Bob, certainly had all those qualities and many more. My deepest sorrow for the family and friends of Bob for our loss.

Joining you all in grieving the loss of such a wonderful man!  We were all blessed to know Bob!!! Prayers go out to his family, friends and those whose lives he touched in so many memorable ways. Mike's message, no doubt, spoke for a myriad from over the years that have blasted by. Charlie and others did such a great job of capturing Bob's unforgetable persona in pictures. Hysterical and historica!  All of the rich memories shared, bring us closer...even to the Heartland of our great country, Kansas City, MO.

Bob's absence is and will be mourned by many who also rejoice for all the years of his presence! (Unfortunately, he has been joined too soon by Merilee!)

Bob,

Had heard what a 'painful' battle you'd been fighting for sometime.  So true that you kept our Class of '64 tied together with your leadership and GENUINE concern, warmth & friendship for all of us.  I still remember the banana cream pie you made for my birthday years ago.  Such a sweetie!  I DITTO all my other classmates that you truly always did have a twinkle in your eyes & smile on your face  . . . often after just being 'naughty'.

"Friends are a gift to us, their presence a blessing when they are on this earth.  After they have gone, we mourn . . . and then we celebrate the Life they lived, the love they shared, the difference they made for having been in our lives."  I will always treasure memories of the fun times we enjoyed together.

RIP !

You are now in God's hands.

Bob showed such courage as he battled cancer and was loved by so many of our classmates. I felt privileged that I was able to say good bye to him when we gathered at Terry's over the Christmas Holidays. His stature in our class was well deserved. We will miss his compassion and his leadership skills which kept our class together over so many decades. Rest in Peace Bob. Christina
